Waleswide seeks to encourage new church plants, re-plants where a new work is based on an old one, or transitions where the new begins in an old one that wants to change. Some areas are very conservative and a new plant would be viewed as alien, elsewhere it would be a breath of fresh air.

When and where should we plant? … re-plant? … transition? Knowing the context will help, the connections of the people available, the support available … but sometimes it is decided on better lines. Sometimes God’s call to individuals to specific openings is the deciding feature.

We have been encouraging people all over Wales to pray for ‘target towns’ for the last few years. Several of those have then called evangelical vicars … Blaenau Ffestiniog, Borth, Aberporth, Cardigan, New Quay, Corwen … the list is very encouraging. It is not my flavour or form, but should I not rejoice? Can I say that the Lord has done great things for us? Can I call on holiday or travels to encourage? Can I look at this website’s prayer page … and pray?

Wouldn’t it be great if other towns had Baptists, Annibynwyr, Methodists, Pentecostals, Evangelicals … who loved the Lord, the gospel, and the Scripture … who felt called to move to plant, re-plant, or transition?
